The “Pioneers of Change” team from Seiyun Model Secondary School for Girls has been awarded the “Best Engineer” Award in the Professional Category at the Future Science Challenge, organized by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences in the United Arab Emirates.
The national team competed in a highly competitive contest that commenced on February 2, bringing together 681 teams comprising 1,713 students from 12 Arab countries.
The “Pioneers of Change” team—consisting of the talented students Roqaya Mohammed Ba’issa and Raghad Mohammed Al-Kathiri, under the supervision of Ms. Saleha Bajandoh—secured this achievement through the development of an innovative, integrated “Smart Tourist Guide” system. The project combines Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to introduce a transformative advancement in the tourism and hospitality sector.
This distinguished achievement reflects the generous support and continuous commitment of the Board of Founders of Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development, led by its Chairman, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, and embodies the strategic guidance of the Board of Trustees, chaired by Eng. Ahmed Salem Bashaweih. It also stands as a result of the sustained follow-up by the Foundation’s executive management, in collaboration with the Offices of the Ministry of Education in Hadhramout Governorate, whose collective efforts have fostered an enabling environment for innovation and academic excellence within the model secondary schools.
The Future Science Challenge is a leading platform aimed at promoting education in artificial intelligence and innovation among talented students across the Arab world, in alignment with advanced technology strategies. It seeks to transform students’ ideas into practical technological solutions that serve society.
