Director of the Ministry of Education in Coastal Hadhramout Sponsors Agreement to Equip Three Public Schools with Hybrid Solar Energy Systems

Mr. Ameen Abdullah Baabad, Director of the Ministry of Education Office in Coastal Hadhramout, presided over the signing ceremony of an agreement to equip three public schools with hybrid solar energy systems. The project is funded by the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award and will be implemented by Techno Taqa for Renewable Energy. This initiative falls under the "School Environment Improvement Project," targeting Mukalla Model High School for Girls, Ibn Khaldoun School, and Fatima Al-Nakhbi Girls’ Complex in Mukalla City District.
During the signing ceremony, Director Baabad expressed his great satisfaction with this fruitful step, which stems from the active strategic partnership between the Ministry’s Office and Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development, highlighting the Foundation's ambitious vision in supporting education in Hadhramout Governorate.
He emphasized the importance of such impactful interventions that address the sector's needs and contribute to the stability of the educational process, particularly in light of the ongoing power outages affecting schools. He stated, "Renewable energy systems have now become a top priority in our infrastructure and school environment improvement projects due to their significant impact across districts."
Eng. Tareq Ali Balkhashar, Executive General Manager of Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development, explained that this project follows the Foundation’s esteemed achievement of receiving the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award, which aims to establish sustainable initiatives in the education sector.
He further noted the Foundation's commitment to intensifying its efforts to serve this vital sector by seeking grants from the Kuwait Fund and the European Union in the upcoming phase.
Eng. Ayoub Saleh Atifah, General Manager of Techno Taqa for Renewable Energy — the implementing company — outlined the project’s phases and the work mechanism, emphasizing the company's commitment to ensuring the quality of the final product. He indicated that the project aligns with the company's social responsibility to contribute to the development of the educational sector in Hadhramout Governorate.
The signing ceremony was attended by Eng. Omar Asban, Head of the Projects Division at the Ministry’s Office; Mr. Hassan Al-Shanini, Director of Training and Qualification Division; Mr. Mohsen Baqutian, Director of General Education at Hadhramout Foundation; Project Manager Eng. Omar Bukair; and several representatives from the Foundation and Techno Taqa.
