Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development Wins Hamdan-ISESCO Prize for Voluntary at the Islamic World Level

The Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) announced that Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development has won the 4th Hamdan-ICESCO Prize for Voluntary Development of Educational Facilities in the Islamic World.

The foundation received this prestigious prize for its pioneering project, "Model Schools," which aims to establish and develop modern model secondary schools in Hadhramout Governorate. This initiative contributes to providing an stimulating educational environment for students and enhancing the quality of education in Yemen.

The Foundation will be honored in an official ceremony, where it will receive a winning shield and a financial reward of $100,000, in support of the continuation of its projects in serving education and the beneficiary communities.

This victory is a culmination of the foundation's dedicated efforts in serving society and promoting sustainable development in Yemen, with a particular focus on developing educational infrastructure and providing equal educational opportunities for youth.

Hadhramout Foundation was selected among numerous distinguished volunteer institutions and initiatives that competed for the prize from across the Islamic world, reflecting the esteemed status of the foundation and its sincere efforts in serving education and community development.

On this occasion, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, Chairman of the Board of Founders, stated, "This win is a recognition of the efforts of Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development in bringing about positive change in the education sector since its establishment in 2006. We are proud to be part of this developmental journey of the foundation and reaffirm our commitment to continue investing in people and achieving sustainable development.”

For his part, Eng. Ahmed Bashawyeh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, noted that winning this prize serves as an incentive for the foundation to redouble its efforts and expand the scope of its educational projects. He emphasized the foundation's serious pursuit of its mission to build productive individuals and develop their capabilities.

In turn, Eng. Tareq Balkhasher, the foundation's Executive Manager, praised what he described as a well-deserved victory, attributing it to the team spirit of the Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development. He said, "This win is the result of strenuous efforts and diligent work by the foundation's team, which works with full dedication and sincerity to achieve the foundation's aspirations and developmental goals in serving education and community development.”

It is worth noting that Hadhramout Foundation won this award alongside the Heydar Aliyev Foundation from Azerbaijan for its "Educational and Social Support Project," and the Moroccan Foundation for Primary Education from the Kingdom of Morocco for its project to equip primary education departments in rural, semi-rural, and urban areas.

Launch of the "Career Pathways" Project to Empower Youth

Funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and implemented by the Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center today launched the "Career Pathways" project in Hadhramout Governorate. The project aims to empower young men and women through vocational training and prepare them for the labor market.

The launch ceremony was held in the city of Mukalla, attended by the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hadhramout Governorate, Mr. Saleh Aboud Alomqy, the Technical Affairs Deputy Governor of Hadhramout, Eng. Amin Barziq, directors of the Mukalla and Shihr districts, directors of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Office in the coastal and valley regions of Hadhramout, the coordination unit team for KSrelief’s projects in Hadramout, and representatives of the Executive Unit for Displaced Persons. During the event, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hadhramout, Saleh Alomqy, praised the efforts of KSrelief in supporting Yemen, particularly Hadhramout, through quality projects that contribute to improving the living conditions of citizens.

For his part, the Executive Manager of Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development, Eng. Tareq Balkhasher, explained that the project consists of three main phases: preparation and needs assessment, pioneering vocational training, and skill empowerment in the local labor market. He emphasized that this project is one of the beneficial projects funded by KSrelief and will have a clear and tangible impact on young men and women by providing job opportunities needed in the labor market. This will help reduce unemployment and achieve economic empowerment for them and their families in Hadhramout Governorate.

The project, implemented by the Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development and lasting for one full year, will benefit 200 young men and women, including both displaced persons and local community members, in the districts of Mukalla, Shihr, Seiyun, and Amad. The project includes the provision of 200 small vocational projects in various fields, such as tailoring and dressmaking, motorcycle electrical maintenance, accessories, plumbing and electrical installations, incense and perfume making, barbering, and men's grooming.
