Hadhramout Foundation launched the first training course on accessory making for women with special needs in the city of Seiyun

Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development - launched the first training course on accessory making, and ceramic paste and resin art for women with special needs of deaf and dumb in the city of Seiyun.

The course that will be delivered by the Institute for Education and Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities aims to provide ten deaf and dumb female trainees with theoretical knowledge and practical lessons over a period of 28 days and subsequently marketing their products for 3 months.

The course, the first of its kind in all districts of Hadhramout Valley, is part of the 10th annual “Life is Work” program that targets people with special needs to enhance their quality of life in terms of living income and social integration through teaching crafts.

During the inauguration of the training course, Hadramout Governorate Assistant Undersecretary for Valley and Desert districts Affairs, Eng. Hisham Al-Saidi, appreciated Hadhramout Foundation for its contributions in various fields, especially training youth in various programs to improve their chances in securing jobs. Eng. Al-Saidi also pointed out that the course will make the participants more self-sufficient through supplying them with raw materials and working tools.

In addition, the Director-General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Office in the Valley and the Desert, Dr. Abdullah Bagham, stressed the responsibility and role of rehabilitation centers in providing care and support to young men and girls in order to obtain good outputs for the benefit of both society and the individual, indicating that the segment of people with special needs have little access to such courses and programs based on a field survey conducted by the office in all districts of the valley and the desert
