Hadhramout Foundation Participates in the Future Summit in New York and Supports the Declaration of the Future Document
Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development participated in the Future Summit held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where it was part of the delegations participating in the preparatory Action Days preceding the summit. These sessions aimed to discuss current global issues and challenges.
The foundation was represented at the summit by its Executive Manager, Eng. Tareq Balkhasher, member of the Board of Trustees Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Joufi, and the foundation's representative to the United Nations, Omar Bin Sumaida.
During the summit, the foundation's representatives expressed their full support for the Declaration of the "Future Document," which was officially adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and aims to create a more sustainable and inclusive future.
Eng. Tareq Balkhasher pointed out that this document represents a pivotal step towards enhancing international cooperation to address developmental and humanitarian challenges, which are exacerbated by climate change and increasing conflicts in various regions of the world.
Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Joufi emphasized the importance of participating in this summit, where experiences and visions were exchanged with leaders and international organizations from various countries. He said, "We highlighted the efforts of Hadhramout Foundation in supporting sustainable development and humanitarian and educational initiatives in Yemen."
Omar Bin Sumaida added, "The foundation's participation in the Future Summit underscores its deep commitment to sustainable development and joint work with the international community to achieve a better future for the coming generations.”
The summit’s activities focused on five main tracks, including sustainable development and finance, peace and security, a digital future for all, youth and future generations, global governance, and other topics intersecting with all the work of the United Nations, including human rights, gender equality, and the climate crisis.
