Hadhramout Foundation Sponsors Yemen Model United Nations Conference
Mukalla city, the capital of Hadhramout governorate, witnessed the opening of the Yemen Model United Nations Conference, which is organized for the first time at the level of Yemen under the sponsorship of the Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development and organized by Adalah Foundation for Legal Development.
In the opening event, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Engineer Tariq Balkhshar, pointed out the importance of this conference, which the city of Mukalla is hosting for the first time at the governorates level, which brings together Yemeni youth of all perspectives to paint a clear picture for the whole world that Yemeni youth are the crucible of peace and the reliable bet to reject conflict and spread peace in region .
Engineer Tariq Balkhshar also stressed the importance of this conference, which is consistent with the goals of the Hadhramout Foundation in developing and qualifying the human resource and developing youth skills in dialogue, negotiation and the art of debate. In addition, Engineer Tariq explained that civil society organizations are the effective partners with state institutions in creating this scientific and cultural movement to give young people an opportunity for political participation in the language of peace and dialogue.
On his part, Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Bin Mubarak stated in his speech via video call that Hadhramout always takes initiative to embrace such events that reflect a positive image of Yemen for the whole world. Dr. Ahmed also conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who praised this great event.
The initiation ceremony witnessed a speech by the representative of the office of the United Nations envoy to our country, Mr. Peter Rice, who spoke about the interest of the UN special envoy for Yemen, Martin Griffith in this event, which will contribute to establish a qualitative leap for the Yemeni youth.
The conference will last for three consecutive days, interspersed with exhibitions of development and commercial institutions in Hadramaut, an exhibition of heritage and another of free painting.
