Launch of the Summer Skills (Maharat) Camp for Model Secondary School Students in Hadhramout
Hadhramout Foundation—Human Development has launched the first Summer Skills (Maharat) Program in Haid al-Jazil, Dawan District.
This camp is organized as part of Hadhramout Foundation's efforts to cultivate leadership qualities among graduates of model secondary schools and prepare them for future leadership roles.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Mohammed Khanbash, the President of Hadhramout University, emphasized the importance of camps in shaping students' leadership characteristics and equipping them with cognitive and leadership skills to interact effectively with their environment and community.
For his part, Mr. Salem Banakhar, the Director-General of Dawan District, expressed the local authority's welcome for organizing this summer camp in its first edition in Dawan, highlighting the strong relationship between the authority and the foundation across various development fields.
Meanwhile, Eng. Tareq Balkhasher, the Executive General Manager of the foundation, addressed several guiding messages to the camp's beneficiaries, emphasizing the significance of the camp's initial experience in continuing non-curricular activities for preparing young leaders.
Mr. Mohsin Baqutayan, Director of the General Education Department, discussed the idea of the camp and its goals aimed at refining the leadership skills of 250 male and female students in Mukalla and Seiyun.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed informative interventions from Prof. Abdullah, Vice President of Universities for Academic Affairs, and Eng. Salem Al-Kathiri, Director of Jisr Company in Yemen.
Also present at the inauguration were Dr. Mohammed bin Salman, Assistant Vice President of the University for Student Affairs, and Eng. Ali Basaad, the Executive Director of Essham Development Foundation.
