Marshall Legacy Institute and Hadhramaut Foundation - Human Development Partner to Empower Youth Through Sports
The Marshall Legacy Institute and the Hadhramaut Foundation - Human Development have signed a partnership agreement to implement the “Peace Through Sport” program in Yemen. This program aims to empower American and Yemeni youth to become future leaders through the lens of sport.
Peace Through Sport is implemented by the Marshall Legacy Institute and is supported by the J. Christopher Stevens Virtual Exchange Initiative (JCSVEI). JCSVEI is a U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs program administered by the Aspen Institute.
The program will bring together 880 high school students and 48 teachers from both the United States and Yemen, fostering cultural exchange and developing leadership, community service, and problem-solving skills. By utilizing sports as a powerful tool for communication and positive change, the program aims to equip participants with the skills needed to address global challenges.
Beyond cultural exchange and training, participants will be encouraged to develop innovative community initiatives that contribute to the betterment of their local communities.
The program will be divided into eight rounds, each lasting eight weeks, with a new group of students and teachers participating in each round. Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to engage with inspiring figures who have achieved significant accomplishments in various fields. These individuals will share their experiences and knowledge to motivate and inspire the youth.
