Prime Minister Launches First Student Scientific Conference in Aden, with Diamond Sponsorship by Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development

Under the patronage of His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, the activities of the First Student Scientific Conference were launched today in the interim capital, Aden. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education, and Vocational Training, with diamond sponsorship from Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development.

The opening ceremony was attended by a high-level delegation including His Excellency the Prime Minister, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Technical Education, and Vocational Training, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Wosabi, along with several other ministers, members of parliament, presidents of public and private universities, and The Executive General Manager of Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development, Eng. Tareq Balkhasher.

In his opening address, Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak emphasized the utmost importance the government places on supporting scientific research and innovation among youth. He noted that this conference represents a promising platform to showcase the talents and contributions of our students across various scientific fields.

For his part, H.E. the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research explained that the conference is held under the slogan: “Towards a Scientific Environment that Embraces Research and Innovation.” He stated that it reflects the Ministry’s efforts to create a supportive environment for students and researchers to innovate, excel, and transform their ideas into practical solutions that serve society and contribute to the nation's development.

Eng. Tareq Balkhasher praised the organization of this unique and historic event, affirming the strong interest of Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, Chairman of the Board of Founders, and Eng. Ahmed Bashawyeh, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in supporting scientific initiatives that empower youth and prepare them as national leaders capable of driving positive change. He added, "We look forward to seeing the outcomes of these research projects evolve into initiatives that contribute to the development of our country.”

The conference will run for two days, during which students will present 58 scientific research papers in critical fields including medicine and health sciences, engineering and information technology, basic sciences, and humanities.
