The Executive General Manager of Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development, Eng. Tareq Ali Balkhasher, emphasized the importance of partnerships among the public sector, private sector, and civil society in achieving sustainable development in Yemen during his participation in the panel discussion titled "Rebuilding the Earth and Shaping the Future: Civil Society Partnership in the Journey of Sustainable Development." This session was part of the fifth edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week, held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, Egypt, organized by AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy.

Eng. Balkhasher highlighted the necessity of unifying visions and goals, effectively distributing roles, adopting flexibility in addressing challenges, and strengthening shared social responsibility.

He also pointed out the significant efforts made by Hadhramout Foundation in the field of human development, particularly in education. He referred to the Girls’ Education Initiative in Dawan as an example, explaining that the foundation works to empower youth through programs such as “Life is Work”, which provides interest-free loans to support small projects.

Eng. Balkhasher stated, “Based on our commitment to sustainable development, we expanded in 2019 by opening a branch of the foundation in the United States, which has contributed to enhancing our programs aimed at achieving sustainable development goals, such as eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring good health and well-being, providing quality education, and achieving gender equality.”

The fifth edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week commenced yesterday under the title "Sustainable Solutions for a Better Future: Resilience and Adaptability in a Developing Arab World." The event is being held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States.

The sessions of this year's Arab Sustainable Development Week, which will last for four days, focus on the importance of finding practical solutions to accelerate implementation. These solutions aim to enhance effective partnerships that drive sustainable development in the Arab region and have a tangible impact on the quality of life of Arab citizens.

This year, the Arab Sustainable Development Week aspires to be a transformative event that strengthens the collective power and identity of Arab nations, builds a resilient, equitable, and prosperous future, and paves the way for a stable and sustainable Arab future.
