Dr. Anas Abu Hilal, the Education Officer at UNESCO for the Gulf and Arab Region, stated that engaging Hadhramout Foundation in designing a national program related to building the vocational education sector is highly important due to its extensive experience in this field.

This statement came during Dr. Abu Hilal's visit to the headquarters of Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development to review its deep experience in developing technical education and vocational training over the past seventeen years.

During the meeting, Ms. Doa’a Al-Habshi, Head of the Partnerships and International Cooperation Department, reviewed the Foundation's key projects and programs, which stem from its vision of investing in human capital. She also presented the figures the Foundation has achieved through its developmental interventions in the education sector in its three various forms.

On his part, Eng. Abdullah Muhairi, Director of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Department at the foundation, outlined the foundation's approach in supporting technical education and its action plan for the upcoming phase to advance the technical education sector, alongside partner institutions and the government sector.

Dr. Anas Abu Hilal expressed his openness to the possibility of partnership with Hadhramout Foundation and the opportunity for it to provide training—if conditions permit—under the "Cash for Work" project, which aims to train three thousand young men and women in artisanal professions.

He confirmed that in its upcoming plan, UNESCO will move forward in supporting technical education at the national level, based on the contributions of civil society organizations in the next phase, in order to achieve success stories that create the desired impact.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdullah Baghmian, Executive Director of the Daw'an Architecture Foundation, and Eng. Ali Basad, Executive Director of Essham Foundation for Development.
