dhramout Foundation – Human Development Celebrates a New Cohort of Master’s Degree Graduates at the American University in Cairo
Hadhramout Foundation – Human Development celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of its scholarship recipients from the American University in Cairo (AUC) in 2026, during the university’s annual commencement ceremony held in Cairo, Egypt.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Eng. Ahmed Bashaweih, accompanied by former members of the Board of Trustees, who commended this academic achievement. Family members of the graduates, along with a distinguished group of academic and community leaders, also attended the event.
This cohort included three of the Foundation’s scholars who successfully completed their postgraduate studies with distinction in academic fields that address pressing contemporary challenges. Their achievements are highlighted below:
1. Sharif Abdurabboh Al-Sahboul
Master of Arts in Sustainable Development
Thesis Title:
“Beyond Relief: Charting Pathways for Sustainable Development in Fragile and Conflict-Affected Contexts – The Case of Yemen”
His research focused on developing sustainable development frameworks that move beyond short-term humanitarian assistance and provide practical insights to support policymakers and development practitioners.
2. Ne’mah Mohammed Al-Hindi
Master of Public Administration
Thesis Title:
“Education Governance and Policy Implementation in Conflict-Affected Contexts: The Case of Hadhramout, Yemen”
Her study examined the impact of economic decline and displacement on the quality of educational services, as well as the role of local authorities and organizations in addressing institutional fragility.
3. Amal Omar BaQateyyan
Master of Arts in International Journalism and Mass Communication
Thesis Title:
“Media Literacy in Hadhramout Governorate: A Research Study of the Department of Media at Hadhramout University”
Her research aimed to assess the level of media literacy among media students and explore the mechanisms for integrating media literacy concepts into higher education.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the three graduates expressed their deepest gratitude to the Chairman of the Board of Founders, Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Eng. Ahmed Bashaweih, and the Foundation’s executive management, recognizing the generous support, guidance, and opportunities they received throughout their academic journeys.
