Hadhramout Foundation concluded the ninth annual "Life is Work" program in Mukalla

At the convocation, the Foundation's Executive Director-General, Tariq Balkhasher, Eng., touched on the Foundation's efforts in improving livelihoods and equipping unemployed youth with skilled trades to help them join the labour market comfortably.

Mr. Balkhasher also conveyed the interest of the Chairman of both the Board of Founders and the Board of Trustees, Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, Eng., in supporting the “BLANK” , and in building partnerships with government institutions and civil society organizations to reduce the alarming youth unemployment rate.

In his turn, the Director-General of the Office of the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the Coast of Hadhramout, Dr. Abdulbagi Al-Houthari, outlined the aspects of the partnership between the Ministry's Office and the Foundation, and commended the Foundation’s developmental role in the post-secondary education. Dr. Al-Houthari also expressed his thanks to the Foundation for its efforts in supplying the society with skilled workforce, which helps the progress of Hadhramout.

In addition, the Director of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Department at Hadhramout Foundation, Mr. Abdullah Mehairi, Eng., explained that the “Life is Work” program targeted 94 trainees from various regions and districts of Hadhramout Governorate, distributed over seven courses covering six vocational areas, which are demanded by the local labour market.

Finally, the Foundation awarded the graduates of the programme with training certificates approved by the Office of the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and Training of the Coast of Hadhramout and handed over toolkits to help them in their trade career.

The convocation was attended by the Director of Selah Foundation - Doan Branch, Mr. Ahmed Bal-Fakher, Director of Labour Market Department at the Ministry of Technical Education Office in the Coast of Hadhramout, Mr. Aref Ghanem, Eng., and the Adviser at the Ministry’s Office, Mr. Fethullah Al-Rashidi, Eng.
