A story is a reflection of one's culture, so when you look around yourself, you'll find hundreds of stories waiting to be told. For all those interested in transmitting human experiences and producing podcasts; for the ones who are eager to learn about different cultures, Qisasna is founded.

So, what's Qisasna?

Our Stories (Qisasna) is a virtual cultural exchange program. The program is a partnership between Amideast Yemen and the Hadhramout Foundation - Human Development represented by Hadramout Languages Institute. Qisasna is supported by The Stevens Initiative and it aims to connect American and Yemeni students by training them with the skills needed to produce podcasts.

The program will prepare participants over a period of 14 weeks and provide them with the skills of making podcasts in addition to teamwork skills and storytelling. The program also develops the interpersonal skills of participants by attending virtual meetings and discussions in English with many people of different cultural backgrounds.

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, Qisasna virtual exchange launched an online orientation. The orientation was arranged by Amideast Yemen for Qisasna students in Yemen for the spring semester 2022.

The students were selected and undergone an online placement test to assess their English language level last month. It was a great opportunity for students from Aden, Hadhramout and Taiz to meet each other.

During the last couple of weeks, Qisasna virtual program students from Hadhramout and multiple American universities have started their online meetings in which they were introduced to their partners and facilitators, agreed on a name for their podcast team, selected their roles and discussed the suggested topics for their podcast.

Stay tuned for next meetings
